MLK Day of Service 2016 Brings Thousands of Volunteers
“DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY IS NOT A DAY OFF - IT IS A DAY ON”
Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett's call to action was heard by thousands of county residents, and they responded.
“The Fund for Montgomery” asked West Street to put together a video highlighting the day’s activities, and to capture the spirit and passion in which people honor the legacy of Dr. King. From fixing meals for the homeless, to caring for the elderly, people all over Montgomery County in record numbers came out to observe this special day.
The video is simple, but the mission is large. West Street was brought in after the events were finished and the day was long over. The video idea was an afterthought, and we had nothing that we had produced ourselves to work with. So, using a little borrowed video from here, and a few photos from there, we put together a short piece showing how the day delivered what was promised, an inspiration to be involved.
Sometimes the simple production can say the most.
